They're not America, Ema, and that's what you have to remember. "America" is a set of values and principles that maybe haven't always been lived up to in the past (and god knows there's a lot of historical wrongs that need addressing) but there are a lot of people out there who believe in the ideals of quality, liberty and freedom. And it's not like we haven't had glimpses of a more just society, even if the robber barons keep trying to take it away.

That doesn't really make me feel much better, because that kind of solution always ends up with a lot of people getting hurt in the process.

Well... it's down to the next few months.

Even if that happens though, America has a s[BLEEP]tton of structural problems at the goverment level that need fixing. I know you lot never wanted a Parliament but your system really is s[BLEEP]t when it comes to locking you into s[BLEEP]te leaders for years at a time.

So can I~ They eventually f[BLEEP]ked up so badly they ended up having revolving door leadership till they were finally comprehensively booted out on their arse. If you can't pass a budget, the goverment falls and new elections happen. It's not like America where it seems ever year the Government is being held hostage come budget season.

Yeah well the way these dips[BLEEP]ts are running things there won't even be a government to hold hostage if something isn't done.

I know times are incredibly stressful, but remember you're not alone in this. You can rely on your friends. We survive this kind of thing by banding together and pooling our resources.
