A tutorial on how to make best use of the /MP3 Command written by starcat!

There is an easy way to connect your WinAMP [ / QCD / iTunes -- ed] playlist to a copy/pasteable code for the /mp3 command, so you don't have to type it all out. Smile

0. This tutorial was written for the latest version of WinAMP. I think it's 5, but hell if I know for sure. If you don't have it, kick yourself, then go get it.

1. The next (or first) thing you will need to do is install AIMP.

2. Then install the AIMP configurator.

3.Once you have everything installed, open the Configurator. Ignore most of the settings, you won't use those.

4. Find the Clipboard section under Other Integrations.

5.There's a big white box in the middle now labeled "Format:", clear out whatever's there and type this: /mp3 %1|%2|%br Translated, this means it'll paste /mp3 <artist name>|<song title>|<bitrate> when you push the keys listed at the top of the Configurator screen.

6. The default should be Ctrl+Alt+Z, but you can customize it. This is optional. I find ctrl+alt+z works very well since I no longer have a win key to get in my way on that side of the keyboard, but you may feel otherwise.

So, I've got WinAMP open right now. I'm listening to What Is Love?, and I want to say that in the chatbox. I hit my three hotkeys together, and...

/mp3 Haddaway|What Is Love?|198 appears in my text-entry box! Yay!

This is easy to set up and easier to use. :D Hope it helps someone!
