[17:38] * Jennifer Amuro looks at what time it is. Then she grins at her clients. "I'd say it's almost the right time to finish the painting!"

[17:40] * Jennifer Amuro holds up a duffle bag, and fishes around inside of it. She starts pulling things out. A box of uninflated balloons, some shuriken, an obselete cell phone, some paint brushes, a paintbrush so thin it looks like a knife, a tiny ziploc bag full of apple seeds, a wakizashi, some mace... A letter from 1977.... "Gaah, I really need to organize this!"
[17:40] <Jennifer Amuro> Ahah! Here it is!
[17:40] * Jennifer Amuro pulls out a bottle of cloves and cinammon.
[17:41] * Pink Lion giggles at the random assortment of stuff
[17:41] * Jennifer Amuro hands the cloves to Lottie, and the cinammon to jack.
[17:42] * Pink Lion takes the cloves curiously
[17:42] * Jennifer Amuro scoops the stuff into the duffle with a large amount of noise, trying to put it into respective pockets. "Oooh, there's the Wakizashi. There's a story behind that, I might be persuaded to tell you while I'm painting."

[17:43] <Jennifer Amuro> Well. I don't know exaactly how long it will take for me to finish the painting, and you might have to sit still for a good while. I don't want you being all antsy and hungry while you do it! If you want me to paint you, I insist you eat a nice healthy meal together so you are nice and full! It'll break my heart if your stomachs growl while I try to paint you.

[18:32] * Jennifer Amuro giggles. "Don't worry. It'll be just as soft as last night. I put the blankets on the Futon to resememble what's in the painting. Are you two alright now? Are you ready, miss Lottie?"

[18:35] <Jennifer Amuro> Heh, would you like to hear the story of why that was in my bag,in order to pass the time?

[18:36] * Jennifer Amuro mixes some gold paint, and smiles congenially as she studies her subjects.
[18:36] <Jennifer Amuro> Heh, well, painting runs in my family for a long time. Though it skips a generation. You two are a true pleasure to paint. ^_^
[18:36] <Jennifer Amuro> But some people ask for unusual things.
[18:37] <Jennifer Amuro> I've had some eccentric job orders that I've performed. You guys saw me come here with the blindfold in order to do some wood carving. Well, that's not actuallly the strangest request I've filled.
[18:38] <Jennifer Amuro> One man from Switzerland hired me to paint a picture of him with exactly 10,000 brush strokes.
[18:38] <Jennifer Amuro> Some people are kind of superstitious, and insist I dont' use certain colors...
[18:38] <Jennifer Amuro> But once, a long while ago...
[18:39] * Jennifer Amuro adjust the lamps so Jack's hair is properly backlit, and then continues.
[18:39] * Pink Lion listens
[18:40] <Jennifer Amuro> A man from a very prestigious Japanese noble family asked me to do a painting and line art of him. I was very hard-pressed for money then, and he said room and board would be paid for, so I went to this island owned by his family.
[18:40] <Jennifer Amuro> And he wanted me to...
[18:40] <Jennifer Amuro> He insisted that I not use brushes.
[18:41] <Jennifer Amuro> He was from a proud tradition, he said, and he wanted me to make a painting of the ancestral armor they kept on the grounds... But instead of a brush---he provided me with Swords!
[18:42] * Jennifer Amuro walks over, and adjusts Lottie's incrementally so it matches the way she laid last night. "There we go. Now as I was saying."
[18:42] <Jennifer Amuro> I did not get to use any brushes. Such was his devotion, he insisted that "every stroke be that of a sword."
[18:43] * MusicArtisan gently strokes lottie's hair
[18:44] <Jennifer Amuro> ...It took me two years of work to finally finish it. He did not make me work on it continually, and there were some other things to do on the island, some gyms and he even had a group of bodyguards for his grandchildren that would let me stay with them.
[18:44] <Jennifer Amuro> But I was always scared. I felt so powerless, and it was very slow going. I'm sure you can imagine, what with how hard it would be to paint using a sword-tip!
[18:45] <Jennifer Amuro> When I finally finished it... I was afraid he'd hate it, but he said he was overjoyed, and said that he prized the dedication I showed as much as my art, and he gave me one of the swords I used as part of my payment.
[18:45] <Jennifer Amuro> I was too afraid to argue at that point.
[18:46] <Pink Lion> Wow...that sounds so...interesting...
[18:46] <Jennifer Amuro> But I keep that sword with me now, to remind myself that whatever trials I must face, whether in life or art, I am disciplined enough to overcome them.
[18:46] * Jennifer Amuro giggles, and mixes some paint together.
[18:47] <Jennifer Amuro> And that's why I keep that sword with me, so that I always remember how lucky and good I am. It's like a rabbit's foot, you see! To remind me that I've come through a lot.
