[10:37] *** Hospitals are finally beginning to empty out as, thanks to the efforts of the heroes and aliems who came out of hiding to render their aid in one of the most dangerous periods in human history, miracles start to happen.
[10:38] *** But the people realize that these were not "miracles", but rather hard work and sacrifice by previously unsung helpers who worked from the shadows.
[10:38] * And this time... THIS TIME... there was no Superman vs Batman s[BLEEP]t.

[10:39] *** The people saw, how despite all their powers, these heroes were not gods. They could not save everyone. But they saved many, and did their best.
[10:39] *** ...and a lot of them looked damn flashy doing it too.
[10:40] *** Because of the severe and widespread nature of the devastation, this wasn't a case where heroes alone fixed things.
[10:41] *** Regular people helped too, as they always did. They worked together with the heroes, sweated and bled and laughd and cired alongside them.
[10:41] *** ...And they realized there was so little diffference between them, other than the possession of certain special sets of skills.
[10:42] *** So, unlike in the past of mankind, where unhealthy god-cults would tend to spring up around the metahuman...
[10:42] *** in Typical Social Media Era style... Heroes became instant celbrities... first on the 'Net... then the Tee Vee.
[10:43] *** They had finally come out of the shadows.
[10:43] *** And so too, did the Villains.
[10:43] *** in the aftermath of the Quinox Incident, the world took a huge step forward.
[10:44] *** Heroes who had been active in the "Golden Age", like the Sailor Senshi, the Marvel / DC / Sentai types... were all recognized and praised.
[10:45] *** But now... there was a new generation of heroes waiting int he wings.
[10:45] *** kids with special powers who had previously been shunned, or felt too scared to reveal their powers.
[10:45] *** and others who wanted to help, but didn't know how.
[10:46] *** Heroes who weree so strong that they did incredible damage easly needed to learn how to work better in closed urban environments, Other heroes needed to learn how to give first aid, to victims not just punch in faces.
[10:46] *** and so... the world bnegan to adapt
[10:47] *** "Hero Academies" were quickly formed-- at first, ad hoc training centers, they quickly became schoosl in their own right.
[10:47] *** Mugen Acdemy decing to open up one, of course-- and ttotally NOT because Tomoe wanted to study all the students and their powers, no sir.
[10:48] *** Here, kids and (for now) Adults who needed training in how to master their powers, use them safely in urban environments, perform search and rescue, reassure those in danger and perform disaster relief were given the tools they needed.
[10:49] *** Wtih the popularity of heroes, TV shows started to rank them in the polls.
[10:50] *** Police and other organizations quickly realized they could use the power of heroes to help them in their jobs, and so struck a deal with the governments, who realized it would be suicide to try and harass the heroes into doing what they wanted.
[10:50] *** a VOLUNTARY Licenscing system was created.
[10:51] *** Those who were licensed could still keep their civilian identities private, but the government would know who they were so they could reach them. These heroes would work for the city / country when called upon, for diaster relief and defense afgainst villains / monsters and natural threats (no war)
[10:52] *** In return, they got a handsome salary, a pension, and the ability to bo in offcial hero rankings. The higher up you got, the better your pay, etc.
[10:55] *** To get a license, heroes must either pass a government test, either after self-study or after graduating from the Hero Academies and passing the test. Candidates must show good character (i.e. not be murderous) and show profciency in search and rescue, minimizing collaterla damage, strategic thinking when powers are not available, and vow and protect not to cause unneccsary damage. They must also demonstrate a fine level of control with their abilities.
[10:55] *** Unregistered heroes could keep on as they were, being as private as they want, but they lose out on the pay / pension / insurance benefits / etc
[10:56] *** And so the world enters as strange new era... where Heroes and men walk together again for the first time since the Olympians... and.... now they can be sponsored by brans like PEPSI!
