[20:16] <Solarchos> Without immediate magical healing and augmetic replacement, and depending on where the poison was injected, the victim usually didn't survive.
[20:16] <Solarchos> Either the poison dissolved too many vital organs or caused so much damage to the body that continued survival was almost impossible.
[20:17] <Solarchos> Karen was lucky. The bolt struck her side at a steep angle, so the Churning Rot was administered into fat instead of muscle tissue.
[20:17] <Solarchos> That delayed the spread slightly.
[20:19] <David O`Cain> Better than instantaneous. It had to very painful.
[20:22] <Solarchos> To say the least. I think it was the helplessness that was the worst part.
[20:22] <David O`Cain> Yeah.
[20:23] <David O`Cain> Even then, I still feel terrible for her. Highly doubt my healing would have done anything to help again something like that particular toxin.
[20:26] <Solarchos> She lost one kidney, suffered a failure in the other, lost her liver, and some of her intestines along with a significant portion of the skin on her right middle torso. It was amazing that we were able to save her in the first place.
[20:26] <Solarchos> But I'm glad we did. She's proven herself very capable since then.
[20:29] <David O`Cain> So, what is her overall prognosis, Solar?
[20:31] <Solarchos> Oh, she made a full recovery after the war. She needed a bunch of internal implants in order to stay off life support and dialysis.
[20:32] <Solarchos> During the Zealot War her condition improved once we started experimenting with medical arcanotech and cloning organ tissue.
[20:34] <Solarchos> A couple of years ago she underwent her final procedure to replace the lost organs with cultured biotech and cloned tissue, as well as a full juvenat treatment. The preceding years had been rough on her.
[20:36] <David O`Cain> I'm sure, man. No wonder it looked like she didn't age a bit all this time.
[20:40] <Solarchos> Juvenat treatments do that. They cleanse the body of senescent cells and reverse the Hayflick limit of the remaining cells so that they revert back to a much more youthful stage.
